Glass has a mind of it’s own, a mind that you must respect and work with. If you try to force something, anything, it won’t work. It teaches us about life.
Connections
When I work with glass I am reminded that I am doing something that has been done for thousands of years. Working with glass ties me to ancient peoples.
When my work is going well I am filled with a sense of being connected to something bigger than myself. Something I am channeling that is allowing me to give creative birth to an object that will be loved by someone. When people see my work, I’d like them to feel a connection. I would like them to see something in the glass that helps to strike a chord in their own lives.
Currently I am trying to push the boundaries with textures and colors. I am trying to duplicate the beauty and wonder of rocks and stones, the geologic wonders all around us. Stone formations and ancient petroglyphs are figuring greatly in my current work. A connection to the ancients that lived before us. A reminder of who we are, where we were and where we might be going.
Thank you for spending your time here!
